As we enter the second international break of the campaign, West Bromwich Albion sit top of the Sky Bet Championship table after an impressive start to the season.

The Baggies have made a solid start to life under Slaven Bilic, losing only one of their first 11 league matches and picking up six wins so far this term.

In midweek, they fell to their first defeat of the season against promotion rivals Leeds United at Elland Road, but then bounced back in the best way possible - with a big 4-2 home win over Cardiff City at The Hawthorns.

You feel that if the Baggies can tighten up in defence, then they will definitely be contenders for promotion this season - as clearly, their ability to score goals is far from an issue.

Bilic's side are currently the second-highest goalscorers in the division, scoring 21 goals in 11 games, which is only two less than Preston North End.

12 different players have scored for Albion this term, which is hugely impressive after losing both Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle in the summer.

And an interesting statistic has now emerged involving the Baggies - they have scored 110 goals since the start of the 2018/19 season, and only Manchester City have scored more goals in that time.

It's a piece of news that stands West Brom in good stead for the rest of the season, as they look to get back into the Premier League.

The Verdict

I must admit, when West Brom lost Jay Rodriguez to Burnley in the summer, and Dwight Gayle returned to Newcastle after a loan spell at The Hawthorns, I thought they'd struggle this season.

But so many players have stepped up to the plate, scoring goals from every area of the pitch.

With Charlie Austin getting off the mark in the league at the weekend, Baggies fans will be hopeful that he can keep on scoring.
