Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has rejected a job offer with Premier League side Watford, according to L’Equipe.
Watford sacked Quique Sanchez Flores at the weekend after the defeat to Southampton on Saturday evening and officials have now been looking to hire a new boss, ahead of what looks like a relegation battle.
The Premier League side sit rock bottom of the league standings having won just one game all season in their opening 18 games.
L’Equipe report that officials have been looking to bring in Lamouchi who has guided Forest to a fourth place standing in the Championship league table.
The French coach took over from Martin O’Neill earlier this year and has developed a winning mentality at the club, securing nine wins in 18 games so far.
Rejecting a deal to join Watford, the former Inter Milan and Parma midfielder re-affirms his desire to gain promotion at the City Ground.
Forest have played one game less than the top six side, and will be looking to bounce back after defeat to Cardiff at the weekend when they face Millwall on Friday evening.
Watford are likely to look for another candidate now with the hope in doing so before the weekend Premier League fixture with Leicester City.

A wise decision from Lamouchi to remain with Forest but also a great statement about his qualities. Watford were right to look at him as a potential new manager but whoever takes over – is going to have a mammoth task on their hands.
Lamouchi is set on gaining promotion or the play-offs as a minimum, and if he can stay for the foreseeable future – that will just be a matter of time.
