Leeds are set to reignite their interest in Al Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah after previously seeing an offer knocked back for the forward in the summer transfer window.

According to Algerian media outlet, Le Buteur, the Championship side are contemplating an offer for the forward who has been in excellent form this season.

Bounedjah, who plays alongside Xavi and Gabi for his club, has 26 goals in 13 league games this season highlighting just how clinical he is.

However, the latest report adds that French Marseille could provide serious competition for his signature, but Leeds will be hoping they can tempt him to Elland Road so that he can potentially play in the Premier League next season.

Leeds are currently 2nd in the Championship table and they are in need of some much-needed depth in their squad after a recent injury crisis has seen Marcelo Bielsa's group looking desperately thin heading into the festive period.

Kemar Roofe is currently first-choice striker at Elland Road, but he could benefit from competition for the starting striker spot, and Bounedjah would certainly be a welcome addition for the promotion chasing Whites.

The Verdict:

This would be a smart bit of business by Leeds.

He would add some much-needed depth to the squad that has been suffering from a ridiculous amount of injuries recently, and many supporters will be hoping that Bounedjah can play a crucial part in their promotion push if he arrives.

His goalscoring record speaks for itself and if he can replicate that sort of form for Bielsa's side in the Championship, then Leeds will comfortably secure promotion back to the Premier League.
