West Brom have put winger Oliver Burke on a special programme as he looks to establish himself as a regular in Darren Moore's side.

The talented Scottish youngster has failed to meet expectations this season, with many hoping the £15m signing would star in the Championship after relegation last season.

Yet, Burke doesn't even make the matchday squad now and is fighting for his future at The Hawthorns.

However, Moore praised the 21-year-old's natural ability and revealed that he is undergoing his own individual training as he looks to find his top form.

"Oli has got some wonderful attributes that I’ve seen from no other player for a long, long time. That’s in my playing career and coaching career," he told the Express & Star.

"We’ve got to tap into them. We’re working very closely with him on a programme that will hopefully benefit him and the football club for the future."

And, it may be working, with the Scotland international scoring twice in a 3-0 win for the U23s against Fulham last night.

His involvement in that game means Burke once again won't be involved in the Championship today as Albion travel to Wigan.

The Verdict

Ultimately, this is good news for West Brom as something needs to be done with Burke as he should be making an impact in the Championship.

Fans will be pleased to hear that Moore recognises the talent Burke has and with four years left on his contract he is worth persevering with.

Now, it's down to the player, to prove he has the desire to change and adapt to the way that the club want him to play.
