Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has been asking the players for their opinions on the management and staff at Hillsborough as the pressure mounts on Jos Luhukay.

These are extremely testing times for Wednesday in the Championship, with Luhukay’s side hovering nervously above the division’s relegation zone at the mid-point of the season.

Pressure on Luhukay is huge at this point with large sections of the fanbase calling for a change.

Now, Alan Nixon has provided an update, confirming that Chansiri has been asking the playing squad for their thoughts on the manager and staff, with the reliable journalist admitting that it doesn’t appear the owner can find a suitable replacement just yet.

Wednesday have won just once in their last 10 Championship fixtures, with Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea City bringing more calls for a change in the management team.

Luhukay has been in-charge under a year and has failed to have the desired impact at Hillsborough, with Wednesday stumbling to a mid-table finish last season and failing to build on an encouraging start to the current campaign.

The Verdict

This is another interesting development in the process Chansiri is carrying out.

It’s becoming clear that a change could be on the horizon, but many will question why he’s asking the playing squad on their thoughts on Luhukay.

It feels incredibly unprofessional and surely won’t sit well with the club’s fanbase.
