Aston Villa are showing a keen interest in bringing Tammy Abraham in on loan.

The Chelsea striker looks set for a temporary exit from Stamford Bridge, with Steve Bruce not giving up on landing the highly-rated goalscorer.

Having starred for Bristol City in the Championship two years, ago, the 20-year-old made a loan switch to Swansea City in the Premier League last season.

Abraham managed five goals in his 31 appearances for the Swans after he notched 23 during his time at Ashton Gate.

Should Bruce capture the season-long loan signing of the proficient striker, there could be several impacts upon his arrival.

Once Keinan Davis and Scott Hogan are fit again, one would seemingly find themselves ousted from the matchday squad.

If Hogan stays, having been linked with a move away, you would imagine it would be Davis who is found wanting.

This would have an effect on his development missing out on vital first-team opportunities while a more established forward is taking his place.

You would also have to wonder about current in-form striker Jonathon Kodjia, and his position would be under-threat also as Bruce likes to have the one up top.

Alternatively, Abraham’s arrival could signal a change in formation and tactics to accommodate the young Chelsea striker and Kodjia.

One scenario you would find hard to envisage would be the 20-year-old spending his time on the bench, but he could if the form of Ivory Coast international persists.

There are so many variables at a football club that it makes predicting the outcome of any one decision near impossible.

Having said all that, should Abraham sign, his most significant impact would be in front of goal.

He knows the Championship well and scored 20 plus goals in the division last time he was in the second-tier.
