Ipswich Town picked up their first victory under Kieran McKenna last night at Portman Road, beating Wycombe Wanderers 1-0.

James Norwood struck the only goal of the game in the 44th minute, as Ipswich picked up a top-six scalp in Wycombe and moved within 10 points of the play-off places.

McKenna spoke to Ipswich’s official media platforms following the game, where he was very realistic about where his side were after the win.

Amongst other things, he claimed that losing to Wycombe would have put them out of Ipswich’s reach in the race to wrestle some control back in the race for the play-offs.

Additionally, the new Town boss focused on the battling quality his side showed, before insisting that it was going to be important Ipswich improved on the training pitch.
