Coventry City snatched an unlikely draw last night away at Portsmouth, coming back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3.

Even more remarkable was the fact they did it with just nine men, Fankaty Diabo and Gervane Kastaneer both receiving their marching orders during the second period.

In a frenetic game, Jordy Hiwula gave the visitors the lead in the third minute, only to see Ronan Curtis cancel that out seven minutes later. John Marquis gave the home side a 2-1 lead, before Gareth Evans appeared to put Pompey in the driving seat after half time.

The size of the Sky Blues task was then increased with Diabo's sending off before a Matty Godden penalty gave them hope. That seemed to fade with the second dismissal of the game for Kastaneer, who had only been on as a sub for ten minutes. However, with four minutes left of normal time, Michael Rose drew them level for a well-earned point.

Whilst Portsmouth will be asking themselves questions about their ability to hang on to a lead against fewer men, Coventry City fans were utterly delighted with the result, especially given they did it with nine men on the field.
