Defender Tom Thorpe has returned to Manchester United after he suffered a nightmare start in his first professional game, when Birmingham and Derby shared the points in a 3-3 draw.
The young defender was stretchered off before the game really got off, and now, the ankle problem has caught up with him once again.
This means he returns to Manchester United and misses out of the two remaining games of the season.
During the second loan spell from April onwards, Thorpe has played five games for the Blues, only once conceding more than one goal. The 21-year-old centre back has made one defensive error during the process, which led to a goal against the St. Andrew’s outfit.
Thorpe is usually the captain of Manchester United’s U21 side.
