Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba has been named as the Championship Player of the Month for November, the club have confirmed.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper has been one of the standout players for the Reds so far this season and had an excellent month in November.

The French-Congolese shot-stopper has been something of a revelation since he arrived at the City Ground in the summer and has played a key role in the Reds' encouraging start to their Championship campaign under Sabri Lamouchi.

Samba joined Forest from French Ligue 2 side Caen in the summer and has made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Reds so far. He's conceded just ten goals and has kept an impressive eight clean sheets.

In November, Samba helped Forest pick up three wins and a draw from their five league matches. He pulled of 13 saves in those games, kept three clean sheets in a row and conceded just two goals.

Forest are currently fourth in the Championship table and will be looking to continue their momentum with a victory in their next game against Millwall on Friday night.

The Verdict

Samba has been magnificent for Forest so far this campaign and is already looking like he could be the Reds' signing of the season. He had an excellent month in November and thoroughly deserved to win the Player of the Month award.

He's a very talented goalkeeper and has pulled off a number of outstanding saves for Forest so far. He's already kept six clean sheets in the league and his contribution to the team cannot be underestimated.

There's still a long way to go in the promotion race yet, but you get the feeling that if Forest end up finishing in the play-offs or automatic promotion spots, Samba will have played a huge role in helping them get there.
