West Brom supporters, cast your minds back to July 2nd 2017, where the club announced a significant signing for a hefty transfer fee.

It was the day that the Baggies confirmed the signing of Jay Rodriguez from Southampton for a fee believed to be in the region of £12m according to BBC Sport.

See how West Brom supporters reacted to his arrival at the time on Twitter below.

Rodriguez has certainly wasted no time in finding his feet at The Hawthorns and has scored goals both in the top flight and in the Championship.

He netted 11 goals in all competitions for the Baggies as they eventually were relegated from the Premier League in a disappointing campaign on the whole for Darren Moore's side.

But there would have been fears that Rodriguez could be heading for the exit door, as he is surely likely to be far too good of an option for a Championship side.

Rodriguez remained with Moore's side though and hasn't looked back since and has been crucial to West Brom's push for promotion this season.

He has 17 league goals to his name and has been their main outlet for goals this season, and the West Brom boss will be desperate for him to remain fit for the remainder of this year's campaign.

Rodriguez has formed a formidable strike partnership with Dwight Gayle and together, the pair are one of the most feared partnerships the Championship has seen in recent seasons.

There is certainly a weight of expectation on his shoulders, but he's more than justified that since joining the Baggies, and will be the key man to fire them back into the Premier League.

West Brom supporters were spot on about this signing and had every reason to be excited by his arrival.
