‘Incredible’ – Many Blackburn Rovers fans heap praise on player despite Huddersfield loss

Blackburn Rovers were involved in yet another enthralling contest in the Championship last night, but were on the wrong end of a result.

Tony Mowbray’s side beat Cardiff City 5-1 at the weekend, and therefore travelled to Huddersfield Town full of confidence last night.

But in another high scoring game, it was the Terriers who returned to winning ways on home soil, winning 3-2 on the night.

Alex Vallejo put Town ahead with a driven effort from distance, but Ben Brereton Diaz, who netted a hat-trick at the weekend, was on fine form once again.

Joe Rothwell danced his way into the area before squaring for the Chilean who converted from close-range, and after Danny Ward put Town back in front, Brereton Diaz scored a second goal from the penalty spot immediately after.

Huddersfield were to find a late winner through Ward, though, with Blackburn falling to their first defeat in six games.

For Brereton Diaz, it is now nine goals in 10 Championship outings this season, in a campaign which has been so rewarding for the 22-year-old.

Here’s what fans had to say after scoring five goals in his last two games…
