Ipswich Town striker Kayden Jackson has revealed that he's had no contact over a new contract at Portman Road.

The summer gone by saw Jackson linked with a move back into the Championship, with a recent interview with the East Anglian Daily Times addressing the 'offers' he had from AFC Bournemouth.

Nothing materialised in the summer, but there's also not been anything to suggest that Ipswich are set to offer him fresh terms.

He told the East Anglian Daily Times: “In truth I’ve had to no contact. I spoke to my agent in the summer and he was of the impression that the best thing for me is just to concentrate on my rehab, get back match fit, get back to playing games and then things will happen – be that here or elsewhere.

“The main thing, as I’ve said before, is that I’m an Ipswich player and I’m looking to get my match sharpness back and hopefully help the team.”

In 32 appearances last season, Jackson scored 11 goals and registered seven assists for Paul Lambert's side. However, he was unable to steer the Tractor Boys into play-off contention.

The 26-year-old has made three appearances this season after coming back from injury, but is yet to get off the mark in League One in terms of goals.

The Verdict

It's interesting to see that Ipswich haven't forced the issue with Jackson yet over his contract.

He's a player that's been good for them in League One and he's got enough about him to step up into the Championship - enough clubs wanted him in the summer.

When he's back firing and fully fit, it'll be interesting to see if Ipswich move to sort this out.
