With Patrick Bamford close to a first team return, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa could be in for a double reward with Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown now back to match fitness and regularly turning out for the U23's this season.

Brown suffered a cruciate ligament injury back in January whilst on loan at Brighton and completed his recovery at Leeds following his signing on loan back in the summer.

So how long will it be before Bielsa introduces Izzy Brown to the Leeds first team squad?

We discuss.....

Brown can’t be far off a place in the matchday squad now.

The attacker is getting big minutes under his belt in the under-23s and is surely deserving of a place on the bench against Bolton on Saturday.

He’s a player Leeds’ supporters can’t wait to see over the festive period.

Considering Izzy Brown was due out until the new year, and the fact there are so many games, I can honestly see him being called upon in the FA Cup at the start of the year.

No need to rush him back and potentially cause another injury – on a return is when a player is most susceptible to picking up a knock.

Keep him ticking over with the U23s and slowly bring him back into the side.

In the next few weeks.

The Christmas and New Years period will be absolutely crucial for the Whites and they will need as many players available as possible.

Bielsa has been incredibly loyal to his attacking unit but they won't be able to play every match.

George Harbey

I’d give him a couple of weeks before he should return to the first team.

Like Bamford, Bielsa doesn’t want to rush his injured players and will only be put in if he’s fully fit and available.

He’s chomping at the bit to get back to action and he’ll be like a new signing when he returns.
