Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay probably could have done without the international break as his side had hit a rich vein of form, that had taken them up to sixth in the table just six points off leaders and Steel City neighbours Sheffield United.

With the Owls kicking the weekend fixtures off with the visit of Middlesbrough to Hillsborough on Friday night, Luhukay will need to decide whether to tinker or stick with the side that has performed so well in recent weeks.

Avoiding any changes will not be good news for striker Sam Winnall who has struggled for game-time under Luhukay this season.

So should Winnall be involved in the Sheffield Wednesday squad on Friday night?

We discuss....

Jay Taylor

Saturday might come just too soon for the returning striker.

But there is no reason why he shouldn’t be involved in the midweek round of fixtures.

Having scored in his U23s comeback last week, he will be desperate to play some part this weekend but with so many games still to play, the midweek round of matches would probably be a better option.

Gary Hutchinson

In the squad, absolutely.

In the first XI, no way.

Luhukay has built a great looking side there considering the hand he was dealt in the summer.

He hasn’t done that with wild changes in his first team.

Not recently at least.

George Dagless

Maybe.

He's worked his way back to fitness and though he shouldn't start a spot on the bench might be worthwhile.

He's a good player and will want to remind Owls fans of that with a run of games.

Jacob Potter

I think he should be involved in the match-day squad, but not in the starting XI.

The good form shown by Fernando Forestieri and Lucas Joao does not warrant Winnall a starting spot but if he is to impress from the substitutes bench, who’s to say he couldn’t force his way into the Sheffield Wednesday starting XI.
