‘In reality, we won’t sign anyone!’ – Many West Brom fans get involved in January transfer debate

West Bromwich Albion’s poor form continued on Monday evening as they lost 1-0 to Stoke City at The Hawthorns and extended their winless run to six league games.

Monday’s Championship fixture gave the Baggies a chance to extend their lead at the of the table after Leeds United lost to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Boss Slaven Bilic had Grady Diangana to call on, and he handed the youngster a start after returning from injury, but the 21-year-old return lasted just four minutes as he was forced off with another injury problem.

Five minutes later and things would go from bad to worse for Bilic as Tyrese Campbell made no mistake from a close-range effort to fire Stoke in front.

Campbell’s goal would prove to be the match winner as the home side failed to test Jack Butland during the 90 minutes.

The defeat means West Brom failed to move away from Leeds, and it is now six league games without a win, prompting calls for Bilic to make some signings in the final ten days of the January transfer window.

Linked with a whole host of players, the Baggies are yet to cement any agreements and with Diangana’s injury – a potential problem in attack could form.
