Leeds United have confirmed that goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has been banned for the club's next eight games after being found guilty of breaching FA Rule E3 by the Football Association.

The charge in question relates to an allegation of racial abuse made against Casilla by Charlton Athletic striker Jonathan Leko during the Addicks' 1-0 win over Leeds last September, an accusation the goalkeeper has denied.

Casilla, who joined the club from Real Madrid back in January 2019, has been an ever-present figure between the posts for Leeds in the league so far this season.

Despite some high profile errors at times throughout the campaign, the 33-year-old has helped Leeds to second in the current Championship standings, five points clear of the play-off places.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of Casilla's suspension, a number of Leeds fans, while disappointed, were keen to throw their support behind the club's second-choice goalkeeper - Lorient loanee Illan Meslier - ahead of his now likely promotion to the first-team in the league for the first time this season.

Here, we take a look at what some of those fans had to say.
