Leeds United enjoyed an excellent start to the season, but a difficult run of form saw Thomas Christiansen’s side plummet down the league table.

An upturn of results in recent weeks, including wins over Middlesbrough and Barnsley, has seen the Whites return to playoff contention, and fans will be confident their side can continue their resurgence and begin to close the gap on the top-six.

January will be a huge month for the Danish boss, providing Christiansen with the final opportunity to fine tune his squad ahead of a promotion push.

A plethora of new signings joined the club in the summer, as the squad inherited from Garry Monk was completely overhauled.

The likes of Ezgjan Alioski and Samu Saiz have taken to life at Elland Road with ease, but others have struggled.

Approaching the winter window, these two players’ careers are at a serious crossroads…

Mateusz Klich

The Polish international’s career has failed to take off following his summer arrival from FC Twente, with the player expressing his disappointment on social media after being left out of the squad that travelled to Barnsley several weeks ago.

Klich is a player of undeniable quality, and impressed during the Whites’ remarkable Carabao Cup success at Burnley earlier in the season, but ever since a mistake at Cardiff, the player hasn’t had a sniff of first team action.

Completely exiled from the squad and a long way down the pecking order in the middle of the park, Klich has a decision to make in the new year.

Stay and fight for his place, or head to a new club.

With a World Cup on the horizon, Klich must leave Elland Road in January.

Pawel Cibicki

Another summer signing that promised so much, Swedish star Cibicki has failed to force his way into the team at Elland Road.

Showing serious promise during his time with Malmo, Cibicki had attracted the interest of a number of clubs from across the European game, but just doesn’t appear to be in Christiansen’s plans at this moment.

Cibicki faces a similar situation to Klich.

The 23-year-old can stay and fight for his place at Leeds, or head to another club and hope to rediscover the form he showed in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Cibicki will hope to somehow force his way into the Swedish national side heading to Russia in the summer, and will only achieve this by leaving Elland Road.

He must force throw at least a loan switch as soon as the window opens for business.

Leeds fans, should the pair leave the club in January or do they have a role to play? Have your say below...
