At 25-years-old, Blackman is currently enjoying arguably his best spell in club football so far, scoring seven goals in ten Championship games for Steve Clarke's side this season.

To illustrate his remarkable run of form, in his previous seasons at the Madejski Stadium, he only managed to score seven times in a total of 78 league appearances.

Blackman joined the club from League One Sheffield United in January 2013 for a fee rumoured to be around £1.2m, and is currently one of the most in-form strikers outside of the Premier League.

The forward's form has been rewarded with him winning both August and September's Reading Player of the Month award, and he has lauded Clarke's selection for his rich vain of form, saying: 'I just think the main thing now is I've been given a consistent run of games in a forward position - not necessarily been a rigid right winger.'

Blackman has also highly praised his teammates, stating: 'I think I'm doing well because we've got such a good defensive shape. It allows the forward players like me, Orlando, Garath and Lucas a freedom to express ourselves.'

The Royals are currently sat third in the Championship table, and only four points off the top spot after a run of five wins in six matches.
