A number of Championship sides have shown interest in Peterborough United’s top scorer, Conor Washington, who has found the net 14 times this season in all competitions, according to the Daily Mail.

Wolves, Leeds and Birmingham are just three Championship sides that are monitoring the Peterborough forward and they will hope to add him to their ranks this January.

The friendship between Leeds manager Steve Evans and Posh boss Graham Westley could be an asset for the Yorkshire side in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

However, Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has already responded to numerous fan queries, ruling out a speculative move to Birmingham City.

In recent years, Peterborough have produced a number of talented strikers such as Britt Assombalonga and Dwight Gayle, both of which left the club for considerable fees.

The Posh, who currently sit 6th in League One, will surely be looking to hold their play-off position and potentially return to the Championship after their relegation in the 2012-13 season.

Peterborough fans…Will MacAnthony look to cash out or does he believe Washington is the key to promotion? Who would you like to see as a potential replacement if Washington was to leave? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
