The New Zealand International has scored three goals in his last three games, whilst netting a superb 20-yard strike to take all three points at the iPro Stadium against Derby County.

It was a great goal from the man who signed for Leeds from Leicester in the summer, but he has insisted that he doesn't mind where his goals come from.

Uwe Rosler's Leeds United currently sit in tenth place in the Sky Bet Championship, and are unbeaten, having won once and drawn four times.

The striker, after a frustrating 18 month period at Leicester City, is simply happy to be scoring and helping his side pick up the points needed to claw their way up the Sky Bet Championship table.

The in-form striker said: "Of course I feel good, it's always nice scoring goals. But it doesn't bother me if it's 30 yards or a tap-in - a goal is a goal to me! I'll take them as they come."

Chris Wood will be aiming to consistently score throughout this season and when new strikers come into a side, it can sometimes be hard to get off the mark.

However, when asked by the club's website about scoring early in his Leeds United career, he added: "I was never worried about it, I'm a confident lad.

"It's one of those things - it's always nice to start scoring early but I don't think I'm going to keep up to ratio of one in one for the rest of the season so there are going to be times when I'm not going to score.

"As long as I'm putting in the hard yards, working hard for the team and the team is doing well, then that makes me happy.

"The last 18 months haven't gone the way I planned so playing regularly and getting some goals under my belt is what I love doing.

"It does make you a lot happier when you're winning games and playing well - you go into the dressing room and everyone is happy."

After scoring a sublime late goal to win the game against Derby, the striker continued to talk about the positivity surrounding the club at this moment in time.

He added: "It was a good win.

"I think in the recent games before that, you could tell that our performances were up there. It was only a matter of time before we put that into place.

"Every game is different. It doesn't matter if you're playing a side with a big budget or a side with a little budget, they're always going to come out fighting.

"We take each game on its own merits and make sure we work hard personally."

After joining the West-Yorkshire club, Wood has been massively impressed with what he has seen and believes that with some hard work, Leeds United have the correct formula to be successful in the Championship.

"It's going to take time - we're building something here," he said. "It's going to take weeks on the training pitches and in games.

"It's not always going to go well but we're building towards our future and that's what we're looking forward to. We're doing well so far.

Woods will be hoping to continue his goal-scoring form as the season progresses - his next test in a Leeds United shirt is against Brentford on the 12th September.
