Plenty of Hull City supporters have been getting involved in a debate on who they feel is the best team the Tigers have faced in the Championship so far this campaign.

Grant McCann’s side have been unable to really mount any sort of challenge towards the top of the division, despite having some spells earlier in the season where they hinted they could potentially be able to make an unlikely play-off push – and that has seen them largely have to watch on as other sides battle for promotion.

Hull’s chances of managing anything other than a mid-table finish this season were pretty much ended when Kamil Grosicki left the club for West Brom and Jarrod Bowen departed for West Ham in the final stages of the January transfer window.

The Tigers’ form since the turn of the year has been concerning, with McCann’s side having failed to win any of their last seven Championship matches, since they secured a 1-0 win at Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday on New Year’s Day.

However, Hull did at least manage to end a run of five defeats in six Championship matches, by rescuing a point in the last minute of a dramatic encounter with Swansea City last time out, which saw both sides pick up a point in a remarkable 4-4 draw at the KCOM Stadium.

McCann’s side will be hoping that can be a springboard for them to go on and improve their form, but there are still a couple of games in the season against strong opponents that Hull fans have been unable to forget heading into the final 13 games.

Brentford in particular managed to deliver an excellent performance in a 5-1 win at Hull, in a match which demonstrated why the Bees are battling out for automatic promotion to the Premier League, although they did hold the London club to a 1-1 draw at Griffin Park earlier in the campaign.

Hull have also suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Bristol City this season, which saw Lee Johnson’s side deliver a very composed away performance, while they have also been well beaten 3-0 at Blackburn Rovers only a few weeks ago – and they were also beaten 1-0 at home by league leader West Brom.

Those are the clubs who have been cited by Hull fans as being the toughest sides they have faced this season, when they were asked about who their most challenging opponent has been this term so far on the Hull City fans' forum Facebook group.
