Charlton Athletic fans have been given a positive update regarding the wages needing to be paid for players and staff at the end of this month by journalist Alan Nixon.

The Addicks have been in the midst of another boardroom battle in recent months but it appears as though they are edging to new ownership once again.

With the month nearly up, though, the main issue at the moment is whether wages are going to be paid at the club or whether there is going to be a delay, which causes further issues down the line.

However, Nixon, in response to a concerned fan, has suggested that someone is going to foot the bill - though it remains to be seen who exactly is going to do that:

The Verdict

A takeover of the club, again, seems to be in the offing but whether it is rubber-stamped before payday now seems touch and go.

Getting players and staff paid on time this month is going to be important, though, and fans are going to be hopeful that this particular issue will at least be addressed before worse comes of it.

It's been another eventful period in the club's recent history, and fans will demand that stability is on the agenda in the near future.
