The Charlton Athletic squad and first team staff deserve a lot of credit for producing a 1-0 win over Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday evening, amid boardroom chaos at the South London club.

Corey Blackett-Taylor netted the only goal of the game after Jesurun Rak-Sakyi opened up Duncan Ferguson's rock bottom side down the right flank.

Another positive from the encounter was Michael Hector making his debut for the Addicks after arriving on transfer deadline day, despite being a free agent anyway, brought on by Dean Holden to see out the victory in the closing exchanges.

FLW's Charlton fan pundit, Ben Fleming, was pleased to see the 30-year-old get a first competitive run-out under his belt.

Speaking to Football League World, Fleming said"Michael Hector had a good appearance off the bench, only from the 80th minute so only ten minutes.

"He did his job, obviously kept a clean sheet, didn't concede a goal and we managed to get a good away win so a good opening audition.

"I think it's too early to know the level that he's at, a lot of people can make an impression in ten minute spells when it's just tasked with defending your box.

"I think there'll be bigger tests to come, I think it's good to see that he's already played ten minutes and getting minutes in his legs.

"But, I'm sure Dean Holden will want to get him a start maybe in a couple of weeks, and then I think we can see what his ability is like.

"I think it's an encouraging signing and I think if he is near that Championship level that he was when he left Fulham, then it's a massive signing for us and I think he'll be important towards the back end of the season.

"Encouraging signs that he's on the pitch this early after signing but Charlton fans will probably wait to see more of him, and will reserve full judgment until then."
