Having narrowly avoided the drop on the final day of the season last time out, Nottingham Forest fans will have had every right to enter the new campaign with reservations.

The club sold prolific striker Britt Assombalonga early on, and concerns were raised as to how the club would perform moving into the new season.

However, having saved the club from relegation, Mark Warburton worked wonders in the summer transfer market, replacing the departed Assombalonga twice over with Jason Cummins and Daryl Murphy, as well as adding quality and depth to the rest of his squad.

Seven games into the new season, and Forest lie in eighth place on twelve points, following an impressive victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The win was the club’s fourth of the season, and was an impressive way to bounce back from back-to-back losses.
