Bristol City have had an inconsistent season so far as they have looked to stay within reach of the play-off places.

The Robins have pulled themselves up to seventh and are only out of the top six on goal difference with the top half of the table now becoming a lot tighter.

Certain members of Bristol City's side this campaign have received more credit than others when it comes down to their individual performances.

Winger Niclas Eliasson has been one player to have received widespread praise from Robins supporters as he has already been able to hit double figures for assists despite only breaking into the starting lineup on a regular basis at the start of December.

Goalkeeper Dan Bentley has been one of the more impressive players for the side this season as his command of the penalty area and ability to pull off some world-class saves has marked him out as one of the Championship's best keepers.

One player who has begun to receive plaudits in recent months has been striker Famara Diedhiou as his performances while leading the line have seen him become undroppable for the time being.

Bristol City fans were busy on Facebook group 'Bristol City BS3' when asked who their unsung hero of the season was with many fans coming up with a few names.

Nigel Owen: Easy, Tommy Rowe. Cost bugger all and filled in admirably for Jay. Hardly a poor game from him.

Clive Peters: Tommy Rowe. Perhaps deserves a run in his preferred midfield position as that seems to be the problem area.

Andy Foxon: For me, it's Ashley Williams at 35 .He's been top drawer. If you put him up front or on the wing, he would still make a success of it.

Jill Perry: Ashley Williams. He's generally where he's needed!

Members of the Bristol City Facebook group 'Bristol City Till I Die' were also asked the same question, and here is what they came up with...

Jordan Bateman: Baker. Best centre back we've got when fit.

Gareth Thomas: Absolutely Diedhiou. Gets dogs abuse every season, a lot of the time for toiling on his own up front with no support. In the last couple of months, he has been so immense that even some of his detractors are altering their views. We will miss him when he has gone.

Simon Connell: Bentley.
