Despite improved performances under Paul Heckingbottom, there is no denying that Leeds United’s start to 2018 has been difficult, with the club’s play-off hopes all but gone heading into the final 13 fixtures of the season.

Following last night’s 2-2 draw with Derby County, it is looking a mammoth task to break into the top-six for Leeds, who are still searching for their first victory of 2018.

There has been one major positive since the turn of the year, with Pierre-Michel Lasogga in fine goalscoring form for the Whites.

Lasogga was once again on the scoresheet last night, with the 26-year-old’s goal at Derby his fifth in his last six Sky Bet Championship appearances.

The on-loan German striker’s form has drastically improved recently, with his performances under Heckingbottom extremely encouraging, which has been recognised by Leeds’ supporters.
