Brentford striker Marcus Forss marked his international debut by playing a goalscoring role in Finland's shock 2-0 victory over France on Wednesday night.

Forss, who enjoyed an impressive loan spell at League One side AFC Wimbledon last season, has started this campaign in excellent form, too - scoring six times in 12 appearances for the Bees.

Even more remarkably, Forss is still waiting for his first Championship start of the season, mainly due to Ivan Toney's heroics, meaning he's averaging a league goal every 35 minutes, which is comfortably the best strike-rate in the second-tier.

Following his goalscoring form, Forss was included in the Finnish squad for the first time for their friendly against France and then Nations League games against Bulgaria and Wales in the coming days.

Finland rested some of their big-guns, including Norwich City frontman Teemu Pukki, which meant Forss was handed a start against the world champions.

And the 21-year-old wasted no time in making an impression - thumping his side in front after just 28 minutes.

Brentford's official Twitter account reposted Forss goal, and there was a huge response from Bees supporters - with many calling for Thomas Frank to start the youngster alongside Toney.
