Barnsley will be fully focused on the Championship’s proposed resume date, with Gerhard Struber’s side returning to training over the last two days.
A break of almost three months has left Barnsley in an awkward position; they sit bottom of the Championship table, desperate for the season’s resume as they look to play for the chance to retain their status in the second-tier.
After a tough period, Struber’s squad were back on the training pitch yesterday, with skipper Alex Mowatt amongst those to share a series of images of himself back with a ball at his feet, taking part in unique training.
It has been a busy period for Mowatt, despite the fact there’s been no football played, with the 25-year-old tied down to another 12 months on his deal at Oakwell.
An announcement surrounding Mowatt’s future came earlier this month, with the club securing the service of their skipper until the end of the 2020/21 season.
Mowatt arrived at Barnsley after parting company with boyhood club Leeds United and following a quick spell on loan with Oxford, he’s been part of the furniture at Oakwell.
He helped the Tykes win promotion to the Championship last season, with the midfielder bagging himself three goals since returning to English football’s second-tier.

It’s a great boost for Barnsley to be able to return training, with Struber’s side searching for a chance to put things right in the remaining nine games of the season.
Key to their survival chances will be Mowatt, who will be desperate to make sure that next season he’s still a Championship player.
He looks in good shape judging by the images on Instagram, with the midfielder hoping to lead the revival.
