West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Jonathan Bond has posted a throwback photo from his childhood on social media.

The Baggies have made an excellent start to the season under Slaven Bilic and are currently two points clear at the top of the Championship table, but Bond has been forced to watch from substitutes' bench so far.

The 26-year-old has been used as backup to Sam Johnstone - who has kept five clean sheets - in the league so far, appearing as an unused substitute on 22 occasions.

His only appearance so far this term came against Millwall in the Carabao Cup back in August, where he conceded two goals as Albion were knocked out of the cup in the first round at The Hawthorns.

Bond will be hoping to get more opportunities to start matches for West Brom in the future, for now though, he has taken to social media to reflect on a moment from his past.

The goalkeeper took to Instagram recently and posted a throwback photo from his childhood of himself with a dolphin.

The Verdict

Bond is a talented goalkeeper, but with Johnstone doing so well at the moment, it's difficult to see him getting any chances for West Brom in the Championship this season.

It's been frustrating few months for the goalkeeper and he's had to be very patient, but he's got to make sure that he keeps working hard in training, because when an opportunity does present itself, he has to be ready to take it.

For now though, it seems as though Bond will have to settle for a place on the bench for the Baggies - at least until the FA Cup third round in January.
