Nottingham Forest defender Tendayi Darikwa has posted an update on social media, as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury.

The 27-year-old required surgery on his right knee after suffering a ruptured ACL on the eve of the new season and is expected to be out of action for around six months.

The right-back admitted recently that his recovery is a slow process, but is still hopeful that he'll be able to return to action before the end of the season.

Darikwa has now delivered another update on his progress on social media, posting a photo of himself on an exercise bike in his Forest training gear on his personal

/">Instagram account. The defender added the caption, "Monday in the Lab."

Darikwa made 28 appearances for Forest in the Championship last season, as the Reds missed out on the play-offs under Martin O'Neill.

In his absence, Forest have made a promising start to the new season under Sabri Lamouchi, although their ten-match unbeaten league run was brought to an end against Wigan Athletic at the weekend.

This is encouraging news for Nottingham Forest fans. It's been a difficult few months for the Darikwa and even though it's still quite a while before he'll be able to return to action, it's great to see that he's making good progress towards his recovery.

Darikwa was an important player for Forest last season and it'll be a major boost for the team to have him back when he does eventually return to action.

He'll be determined to force his way back into the side and to make an immediate impact, at what could be a crucial point in Forest's season.
