Sheffield United captain, Billy Sharp, has taken to his personal Twitter account to share a training ground update, as snow hits the north of England today and hinders preparations for this weekend’s round of Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

Sharp’s images shared show the Blades’ training ground covered in snow, with the striker stood alongside teammate, Paul Coutts, who is currently absent from first-team football.

The 31-year-old’s caption says: “My mate Couttsy still smiling,” despite the fact the midfielder’s season is over due to a leg-break suffered against Burton Albion last month.

Chris Wilder’s squad are currently preparing for tomorrow’s clash with Bolton Wanderers at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon, where the Blades will be looking to strengthen their grip on a place in the Championship’s top-six.

The Blades put a disappointing run behind them on Boxing Day, picking up a 3-0 victory over struggling Sunderland thanks to goals from John Lundstram, Richard Stearman and George Baldock.

Wilder’s side currently sit sixth in the Championship table, holding a three-point lead over Middlesbrough and Aston Villa heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.

Boro and Villa currently sit directly below the Blades in the Championship table, however, the play-off hopefuls face each other on Saturday afternoon, offering Sheffield United a chance to extend their lead on one of the duo.
