Leeds United’s preparations for Sunday’s clash with Bristol City are well underway, with Paul Heckingbottom’s side out on the training field ahead of the showdown at Elland Road at the weekend.

The club’s official Twitter account (@LUFC) have moved to share a series of images, as Heckingbottom’s squad prepare for the Robins’ visit to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

A number of Heckingbottom’s squad are pictured in action, including Caleb Ekuban, who continues to work his way back to full fitness following a brief cameo against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Injuries have plagued the forward’s involvement this season, but he stepped up his return on Saturday by entering the contest at Bramall Lane as a late substitute, as Leeds searched for an equaliser.

Ultimately that equaliser never came and Leeds suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bramall Lane, as two Billy Sharp goals ruined Heckingbottom’s first game in-charge of the Whites.

That defeat left Leeds in 11th, eight points adrift of the top-six heading into this weekend’s clash with Bristol City, who themselves are looking to strengthen their grip on a place in the top-six over the coming weeks.

The Verdict

Leeds are in desperate need of a victory this weekend, as their wait for a victory has stretched to almost two months now.

There were encouraging signs against Sheffield United on Saturday, but still plenty of Leeds to work on ahead of this weekend.

Heckingbottom will be hoping to keep a play-off push alive and will know the importance of this weekend’s fixture.
