Caleb Ekuban has taken to social media to deliver an update, after the Leeds United striker bagged his first goal of the Sky Bet Championship season.

Both Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom have had a lot of faith in the 24-year-old striker, but Ekuban’s goalscoring record has been poor.

A goal came earlier in the season in the Carabao Cup, but Ekuban’s wait for a Championship goal had stretched into an eighth month.

However, that wait was ended yesterday, as the striker scored Leeds’ opening goal in their 2-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road.

Ekuban, who was understandably delighted, took to his personal Instagram account to delver an update:

Pablo Hernandez was also on the scoresheet for Leeds, with Adam Le Fondre scoring Bolton’s goal, which proved to be a consolation for the visitors.

Leeds hung on for a 2-1 victory, but could’ve scored more, with Ekuban in particular wasteful.

The 24-year-old missed two one-on-one chances late in the contest, which slightly marred a promising afternoon.

Ekuban will be hoping to retain his place in the side on Tuesday evening, when Heckingbottom’s side travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham.
