Fulham’s official Twitter account (@FulhamFC) have shared images from the club’s training session today, revealing that Lucas Piazon is back amongst the first-team squad, as he continues his recovery from injury.

Slavisa Jokanovic has been without the on-loan Chelsea star for large parts of the season, after Piazon broke his leg in a clash with Leeds United back in August, in Fulham’s third fixture of the Sky Bet Championship campaign.

The winger has been out of action since then, but has stepped up his return in recent weeks, with Jokanovic confirming that he was expecting the player to link back up with the first-team following Saturday’s clash with Sunderland.

However, Fulham’s latest images on social media indicate Piazon is ahead of schedule, with the 23-year-old pictured taking part in training with members of Fulham’s first-team.

Piazon has featured on just three occasions for the Cottagers so far this season, including the clash with Leeds when he picked up his injury.

The winger’s previous two appearances came in the Carabao Cup and Championship, where the 23-year-old found himself on the scoresheet against Wycombe and Reading respectively.

Fulham currently sit 12th in the Championship table.

The Verdict

This will certainly be a boost for all associated with Fulham, with Piazon clearly making great progress from such a serious injury.

There is no time scale on when Piazon will be available, but this is undoubtedly a positive for Jokanovic and all at Craven Cottage.

Fulham are struggling to make an impact in the race for the top-six, and Piazon’s return will help their cause.
