This weekend saw the top two in the Championship record 3-0 home wins.
Derby County saw off the ten men of Brentford comfortably on Saturday afternoon to cut the gap at the top of the league to just eight points before Wolves reacted in some style, blowing away Sheffield United to restore their eleven point cushion.
At the other end of the league, Birmingham City racked up their second 3-1 victory in a week, stunning Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday and they now find themselves 19th in the division.
All three performances did not go unnoticed in the EFL Team of the Week as Rams midfielder Tom Huddlestone, who netted his first goal for the club in 125 appearances across two spells, Wolves forward Ivan Cavaleiro and Blues playmaker Jota – who also both found the net for their clubs – were all included.
#EFL Team of the Week time! ????

Cavaleiro was class on Saturday but I’m surprised that this week’s Team of the Week did not contain two Jotas – Birmingham’s mercurial midfielder who finally showed what he is capable of as well as the Wolves man who netted a classy goal against the Blades.
Huddlestone has been rewarded for his long overdue first goal for the club – I couldn’t believe it was his first strike for Derby!
