Neil Warnock’s job at Cardiff City has been remarkable, with the 69-year-old transforming the Bluebirds from relegation candidates to promotion contenders in little over a year.

After guiding the club from a relegation fight to mid-table last season, Warnock set about delivering promotion this season, with Cardiff now well in the hunt to secure a Premier League return.

The Bluebirds currently sit second in the Sky Bet Championship table, trailing only Wolves and sitting four points clear of the chasing pack ahead of the run-in.

Cardiff moved to announce that the man behind that promotion push had agreed a new contract with the club, with Warnock agreeing fresh terms until the summer of 2020.

Warnock is a hugely popular figure at the Cardiff City Stadium, and the club’s supporters are understandably delighted at their manager’s new deal.
