Nottingham Forest are have reportedly identified Anderlecht forward Francis Amuzu as a potential January target and have made an official approach.

SportsWorldGhana.com has reported that Anderlecht are still studying the offer made by the Reds, while it is understood that he has a €4 million (£3.6m) buyout clause.

So, would be a good signing for Forest? And do they need him?

Our FLW writers share their thoughts...

George Harbey

I’m torn on this.

First and foremost, Forest definitely need to bring in another winger in January as they lack any real sort of threat or creativity going forward.

Chris Hughton has already said that he will look to address his side’s goalscoring woes this month, and the addition of a new winger would help do that.

Amuzu is obviously a bit of an unknown quantity. He’s been at Anderlecht for a number of years, but it does concern me that they are entertaining bids when he still has a lot of time left on his contract.

Forest signed unproven talent last January and failed to improve. They shouldn’t make the same mistake this time around.

Can you name each of these 17 ex-Nottingham Forest players just by looking at these 3 clues?

He's clearly got something about him.

Amuzu is only 21, and has become a regular in the Anderlecht first-team over the years, which shows that the club rate him highly.

But do Nottingham Forest need another striker? I'm not so sure. The Reds already have Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor available to them, and I'm not sure Amuzu would be starting ahead of them at this moment in time.

Forest don't need to just continue buying players, as we've already seen that it hasn't worked, with Chris Hughton's side struggling for any sort of momentum this term.

He's a player with real talent, but I would be really surprised if Forest were to pursue a deal for the Anderlecht forward this month.

Phil Spencer

This is a bit of a strange one.

Francis Amuzu is certainly a player with an incredibly bright future ahead of him and so he'd be a wise investment.

At 21 years of age the Anderlecht winger is someone who could play at the highest level, but he's far from the finished article.

Nottingham Forest need players who can hit the ground running this term and I'm not sure that Amuzu fits into that category.

Forest have far too many players who are a bit 'hit and miss', and I'm not sure that adding another to the mix is the right thing to do.
