Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson continues the search for a new manager following the departure of Tony Pulis, with former Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic the latest name to be linked with the post at the Riverside, according to Sky Sports.

Jokanovic has been interviewed by the Boro hierarchy about the job, with a decision set to be made.

The 50-year-old's credentials are pretty impressive, with potential high wage demands the only major stumbling block.

So how should Middlesbrough fans be feeling about the Jokanovic news?

We discuss.........

Ben Lang

“Boro fans should be feeling encouraged by this move from the club hierarchy.

“Jokanovic offers a very different style of football to Pulis, and this would be warmly welcomed on Teesside.

“He likes his side to play an expansive game, and he also has a good track record at getting sides promoted. It’s a winning combination.”

Gary Hutchinson

“I’d feel incredibly happy as a Boro fan.

“He’s a proven manager at this level and plays a brand of football very different to Pulis.

“They need some relief, they need to be impressed on a match day.

“Plus, they’re a side who could get into the Premier League, under the right man.

“He’s that man, in my opinion.”

George Brooks

"Jokanovic would be an excellent appointment for Middlesbrough and Boro fans should be very excited by this news.

"He is a vastly experience manager and knows exactly what it takes to win promotion from the Championship, having done so twice already in his career.

"Boro fans became tired with Tony Pulis' defensive style of football and a change of approach has been needed at the club for some time now.

"Jokanovic could be the man to provide that change and he should be able to get Boro playing attacking football again, so this is very encouraging news for fans at the Riverside."

Alfie Burns

“I’m sure they’ll be ecstatic.

“Jokanovic is the polar opposite to Garry Monk and Tony Pulis and will get Boro playing the type of football supporters want to see.

“It might take time and a couple of transfer windows, but you feel that he could get the club challenging and playing exciting football to match.”
