The Daily Star are reporting that French legend Thierry Henry has 'agreed' to become the new manager of Aston Villa, replacing Steve Bruce.

Is this a good move by the Villans? Are their new owners making a rash decision here?

Madness. I'm sorry, this is madness.

What does Thierry Henry know about the Championship? What will he bring to Villa in terms of astute signings within their financial budget?

What knowledge of the current Championship players available for under £2m does he have, the players to fire Villa back to the top flight.

this is not a good start for the new guys in town, not at all.

George Dagless

This is such a potentially big risk.

Henry obviously has massive standing in the game and would have learned a lot at the World Cup with Belgium but Villa and the Championship is completely different.

I'm sure he'll end up being a good manager but for now Villa should keep with Bruce.

Sam Rourke

This is not the type of manager Aston Villa need.

They need to get out of the Championship and back to the Premier League as soon as possible, and hiring someone with no managerial experience is just mental.

Villa should stick with Bruce and go again next season.
