Sheffield Wednesday have continued the end of season overhaul of their playing squad, with the announcement that seven members of the club's youth teams are to depart Hillsborough in the summer.

After confirming on Sunday that six members of the senior side - including George Boyd; Gary Hooper and Daniel Pudil - are set to leave the club following the end of their contracts, Wednesday have now confirmed a cull of their younger age group squads as well.

In a statement posted on the club's official website, it was confirmed that six Under 23s players: goalkeepers Cameron McCulloch and Dan Wallis; defenders Connor O'Grady; Frederick Nielsen and Liam Williams and midfielder Warren Clark, along with Under 18s forward Eyad Hammoud, have all been released from the club.

Taking to Twitter to react to the news of more player departures, a number of Wednesday fans appeared surprised by the move, with the decision to release Hammoud in particular coming in for scrutiny.

Here are some of the best of those reactions.
