Leeds United beat Preston 2-0 last night and moved back into the automatic promotion places on what was a big night for Marcelo Bielsa's men.

Yet, they will drop down to third if Sheffield United win tonight and it promises to be a very exciting end to the campaign for both clubs.

That presents something of a challenge for the recruitment team, who will obviously be identifying different targets with a bigger budget if they were in the top-flight.

However, Football Insider claim that one man the Whites want to bring to Elland Road this summer regardless is John Swift.

They say Leeds will meet the £7m demands that Reading have for the midfielder who has scored six goals in all competitions this season.

So, would that be a good deal for the Yorkshire outfit?

Here our writers take a look...

George Brooks

"I must admit I'm quite shocked by this.

"Swift is a good player and he's done well for Reading the Championship this season, but £7m does seem like a bit too much for a player of his quality.

"He could be a decent signing, but I’m not sure he’d suit Bielsa’s style of football, so spending that much money on him does seem like a big risk."

Jacob Potter

"They’re overpaying here.

"Swift might be impressive on his day, but there is absolutely no way that he is worth that as he is far too inconsistent for my liking.

"Reading will surely have no hesitation in selling him if Leeds are offering this much for him."

Chris Gallagher

"This is extremely excessive.

"Swift is a decent player but £7m would be a big fee for Leeds when you look at their transfer history and he's not worth that.

"They should be looking elsewhere and there will be better options for that sort of money."
