Bristol City defender Bailey Wright has completed his move to League One side Sunderland on loan until the end of the season, the Robins have confirmed.

Wright has struggled for playing time with Robins this term, with the centre-back having made just three league appearances since August, and this has seen him complete a temporary switch to the Black Cats as he searches for more regular minutes.

The 27-year-old has made a total of 83 appearances since joining City from Preston in 2017, but he has fallen down the pecking order after an injury kept him out for the first half of the 2018/19 season, and Wright has now not featured in City's last 12 games.

Wright will now link up with Phil Parkinson's side ahead of their promotion push in the second half of their third-tier campaign, with the international centre-back aiming to play regular football ahead of Australia's Copa America debut in June.

Bristol City took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to confirm news of Wright's exit.
