Nottingham Forest host Bristol City in the Championship this weekend, with new manager Martin O'Neill looking to begin his reign with a win and get his side back to winning ways, after defeat to struggling Reading last weekend.

O'Neill has only had a few days with his players and is yet to finalise his back-room staff, but wishes to tie up with his former assistant with the Republic of Ireland, Roy Keane, he confirmed in his first press conference.

So would Keane be a good appointment as assistant manager at Forest?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“I think so.

“There’s no hiding place if Roy Keane comes back.

“He’s fierce, but he’s also honest and blunt.

“He’d be a good fit with O’Neill and with Forest.”

Louie Chandler

"I'm not sure about this.

"Keane has been a heavily disruptive influence in the past but then he is someone O'Neill seems to trust.

"If it is someone the new manager wants then it is a good move to please him."

Jay Taylor

“He is a former player, like their new boss, and if it is the man Martin O’Neill wants as his number two, then so be it.

“It worked well for the Republic of Ireland and could well do again for the Championship side.

“It’s a good fit, something like good cop, bad cop, but with the opposite methods they both have they could well prove to work well together at club level.”
