Bolton Wanderers continue to have a decent start to the season, with many peoples favourites for relegation currently sitting mid-table after the first 10 rounds of matches.
Bolton manager Phil Parkinson will be looking at targets for the January transfer window and may look to rekindle his club’s interest in Burton Albion striker Liam Boyce, who has already notched up six goals in all competitions so far this season.
So should Bolton make a play for Boyce?
Possibly, but they have Doidge and he’s not been given a chance yet has he?
They shouldn’t be moving for players before they’ve tested the one they have.
Josh Magennis has reverted to type, scoring few and looking decidedly League One as well.
Just play Doidge. Get the ball to him in the eighteen-yard area. They would soon forget all about Liam Boyce.
It might be worth it.
Boyce is playing well and if that continues and Burton stay mid-table he could be tempted to move on.
Bolton look pretty strong this year and Boyce would buy into what they are doing.
I’m not so sure.
I rate Boyce highly, but they have Doidge and Magennis as their main men up-front, so there is no real demand for Boyce.
I feel the striker can play in the Championship, but perhaps another team would benefit from him more than the Trotters at present.
