Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk will be hoping his side can continue the unbeaten run they are on since he took charge at Hillsborough, when the Owls travel to Hull City tonight.

Two wins and a draw have taken the Owls up to seventh in the table, now only three points off current leaders West Brom, with experienced striker Steven Fletcher popping up with goals in both of the Owls' victories.

Teammate Barry Bannan has gone as far as to say in the Star, that Fletcher is the best number nine in the league, but is he right?

We discuss........

Ben Lang

"It's hard to argue with this statement given the form Fletcher has been in so far this campaign with his five goals in nine games.

"He works tirelessly for the team and the fact he has also been among the goals this season reflects his importance to this Wednesday side.

"His physical threat was also clear to see against Middlesbrough on Saturday, so it is no surprise that Bannan regards him so highly given the various aspects to his game.

"There are certainly other strong no.9 strikers in the division - Nottingham Forest's Lewis Grabban stands out - but Fletcher has shown the form so far this season to make him worthy of this tag."

Toby Wilding

"This feels like a big claim for Bannan to make.

"Fletcher is a hugely impressive striker, of that there can be no doubt, although I’m never convinced by one particular player being named the best in the league.

"When you look at some of the other strikers currently playing at this level – such as Aleksandar Mitrovic, Lewis Grabban and even Borja Baston on current form, it does seem hard to single one individual out as the best at this level.

"Even so, with Wednesday starting to show plenty of promise under Garry Monk, that is likely to be of little concern to them, so long as Fletcher continues to score the goals to keep them challenging for a top-six spot in the Championship this season."

Louie Chandler

"I'm not so sure.

"Don't get me wrong, Fletcher is a very effective striker, but to say he is the best in the league is a tad over the top.

"You look at the likes of Lewis Grabban, Lyle Taylor and Aleksandar Mitrovic and it is clear that there are more effective and more consistent forwards in the league.

"That being said, Monk seems to be getting the very best out of Fletcher, so it would be no surprise to see him climb that ladder."
