Derby County striker David Nugent has admitted he is loving life at Derby County under manager Gary Rowett, according to a report in the Derby Telegraph.

The former England international has been an excellent signing for the Rams since making a January move from Middlesbrough, and hit a hat trick last week to further confirm his quality at Championship level.

Nugent has gone on record this week in an interview with the Derby Telegraph, admitting to being very happy with life under Gary Rowett. Nugent said:

"I'm loving it. Obviously, I'm playing under the new gaffer and I've scored four goals in the last three games. I'm feeling confident and so is the rest of the team".

Derby are putting together a late run towards the playoff places, and after a turbulent season of different managers and inept performances, finally appear to have made the right choice in appointing Rowett after he was relieved of his duties at Birmingham City.

Nugent added: "The gaffer has given us belief. He's played the same team three games in a row now, so that gives us that continuity. We all know our roles and what we're doing".

The Rams take on Birmingham City today and Rowett will no doubt be looking to get one over on his former employees after being so harshly removed from his managerial post in the summer.
