While others are involved in the tense battle to gain promotion from the Championship via the play-offs, Sheffield United are able to bask at least momentarily in the warm glow that is automatic promotion, before the hard work for preparing for life in the Premier League begins.

Blades manager Chris Wilder will want to review his squad from top to bottom and will undoubtedly look to strengthen his squad ahead of their return to the English top flight.

But Wilder already has a host of talent at his disposal, players like veteran striker Billy Sharp who had a superb season at Bramall Lane scoring 23 goals in 43 league appearances this season.

However the Premier League is a different kettle of fish. Will Sharp cut it in the Premier League with the Blades?

We discuss.........

George Dagless

"I think so.

"He might not be the youngest striker anymore but he's got what all good forwards need regardless of age, instinct.

"He knows how to score goals and battle with defenders so I think he'll do himself justice for sure."

George Brooks

"I think he can.

"Sharp has had another outstanding season for Sheffield United the Championship and deserves a chance to prove himself for the Blades in the Premier League.

"He’s an experienced striker and has been one of the most prolific strikers in the Football League over the past few seasons.

"Sharp was never given a proper chance to prove himself in the top flight with Southampton, so he deserves another opportunity with his boyhood club."

Gary Hutchinson

“I’m going to sound really harsh here, but no.

“Sharp has been brilliant for the Blades and is a great professional with a sterling career behind him.

“He won’t score five next season.

“This was his final swansong, he’s destined for EFL Cup matches and the odd late cameo.”
