As far as guaranteed drama goes, you should not look further than the promotion battle that occurs in League Two each season.

The battle for the top three automatic promotion spots nearly always goes down to the last day and this season is likely to be the same.

A strong crop of teams will all be vying for top spot in the fourth tier as is only natural.

At the time of writing, Sky Bet have Notts County as favourites with odds of 6/1.

Kevin Nolan's side had an impressive 2017/18 season but fell short in the playoff semi-finals where they were blown away by a rampant Coventry City side.

It is no real surprise they are favourites having held onto their main men from last season and whilst also adding ten new faces.

Following the Magpies in the race for the title is relegated MK Dons at 13/2, then Lincoln City at 8/1 and finally Mansfield at 10/1.

But who will follow in Accrington Stanley's footsteps and lift the League Two title this season?

We discuss...

George Dagless

League Two is so hard to call.

Mansfield and Notts County have made some impressive signings whilst I expect Lincoln City to be up there as well.

Picking one, I think I'll back the Imps.

Gary Hutchinson

I'm going to say Lincoln City, partly because I'm a fan but also because I firmly believe that the summer recruitment has been exciting.

Last season's post-Christmas form, over 26 matches, would have seen us finish fourth and that alone is food for thought. The squad has been revamped, it is infinitely better than last season and once the Imps find a pattern, I don't think anything will stop us.

Alfie Burns

I think Notts County will run them close, but I’m going to say MK Dons.

Paul Tisdale is a very good manager at that level and he will be wanting to get another promotion on his CV.

They’ve done some good business and will be a real force.

Jay Taylor

Notts County. I enjoyed watching them in spells last season and thought they were unlucky in the play-offs.

I think they can go one better and make it back to League One. They have a good squad already assembled for the challenge ahead of manager Kevin Nolan is really settling into management and I think they will win the league.
