Bristol City travelled to West Brom last night in the hope that they could take something away from the game, however they were soundly beaten by the high flyers on a tough night for the Robins.

One pleasant surprise in the starting lineup however was the inclusion of star Korey Smith, who has only played six games since the start of last season due to injury.

Having played a couple of under-23 games over the past few weeks and been an unused substitute against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, manager Lee Johnson had deemed his midfield general fit enough to start alongside Adam Nagy and Josh Brownhill in a three-man midfield.

Smith missed the start of the 2018-2019 season after undergoing a knee operation, before making his return after the festive period and appearing six times and injury hell struck him again in April, the midfielder having to go off against Reading as he suffered two broken bones in his foot and a damaged ligament.
